I bought this knife some years ago, precisely during operation Iraqui Freedom. As a matter of fact many Desert Cruise come out with an Iraqui Freedom logo on the blade... mine hasn't! This knife is a pure combat/utility blade expecially designed for operations in desert environments, but you can tell that by the color of the blade and handle.
The knife is a Jim Hammond design (http://jimhammondknives.com/1mainframe.html?knives-main.shtml~main)
The knife has a corrosion resistant titanium nitride coated blade, so I believe it should last a long time and give no signs of corrosion at all.. you'll notice some dirt and stains on my blade, but thats just because I've used it and I should only clean it a bit.
The blade is Razor Shapt and Part Serrated and has a LAWKS safety which makes the Desert Cruise safe as a fixed blade knife.
The handle offers a very good grip thanks to his shape, either in a forward or reverse position and has an interframe built with Zytel scales, making handling very comfortable in any type of situation, over a dual stainless steel structure.
The knife also has dual thumb studs and a blade extension for ambidextrour one hand opening.
The clip can be attached to both sides and is Teflon plated.
